How is Breast Reduction Performed?
The surgery involves several steps:
Consultation & Planning – Assessment of health history, breast size, and goals.
Anesthesia – Typically performed under general anesthesia.
Incision Technique – Common patterns include:
- Keyhole (vertical) incision
- Anchor-shaped incision
Tissue Removal & Reshaping – Excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin are removed. The breast is reshaped, and the nipple may be repositioned.
Closing Incisions & Recovery – Sutures are applied, and recovery begins.
The procedure usually takes 3–4 hours, depending on the case.
