How is Rhinoplasty Performed?
The procedure is tailored to the patient’s needs and goals:
Consultation & Planning: Detailed evaluation of nasal anatomy and facial proportions.
Anesthesia: Usually general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation.
Incision Techniques –
- Closed Rhinoplasty: Incisions are hidden inside the nostrils.
- Open Rhinoplasty: Small incision on the columella (between nostrils) for complex reshaping.
Reshaping the Nose: Bone and cartilage are carefully modified to achieve the desired shape and symmetry.
Closing Incisions & Recovery: Sutures are placed, and a nasal splint is applied to support healing.
The surgery typically lasts 1–3 hours, and patients can often return home the same day.
